Detectives are appealing for information following a robbery at a convenience store in Glasgow on Thursday 1 February 2018.

Around 9pm, three men entered the U Save store at 1929 Dumbarton Road, assaulted the 41 year old shopkeeper and stole a quantity of alcohol and a three-figure sum of cash.  They fled out the store, turned right and ran up a common close.

The 41 year-old man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital suffering a head injury.  He has since been released.

The first suspect had a medium build, he was wearing a padded jacket, black gloves, dark coloured trousers and dark trainers.  He wore a black balaclava to hide his identity and carried a black holdall bag.

The second man is around 5 ft. 7 inches in height, with a dark blue hooded top, dark blue trousers, possibly tracksuit trousers, white socks and white trainers.  He too wore a black balaclava to disguise himself.

The third suspect wore a dark blue hooded top with a white emblem on the left hand side of the top and dark blue trainers. As with the other two, this man tried to hide his identity and wore a black balaclava.

Officers are in the process of checking CCTV footage from in and around the area and carry out door-to-door enquiries.

Detective Constable James McLelland said:

“This store is well used by the local community and I am appealing to people who live in the area to think back and consider if they saw anything suspicious last night.  Did you see three men hanging around outside the store, did you see three men running off?  It may not have seemed relevant at the time but in light of the robbery, your information could assist us in tracing the three men responsible for this violent attack.”
