Six People Stabbed Including Police Officer in Glasgow city centre Incident
COPS are dealing with a major incident in Glasgow city centre – with six people stabbed and a police officer fighting for their life among six in hospital.
Reports suggest the incident involves multiple stabbings have been confirmed, with a male suspect shot dead by cops.
Armed officers were earlier seen entering the Park Inn on West George Street, with the building evacuated.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing trails of blood on the ground, and casualties being treated and taken away in ambulances.
One witness, who gave his name as John, said he came down from the third floor of the hotel to see the reception covered in blood.
He told the PA news agency that he initially saw one person who had been stabbed.
“I went down to the entrance and shouted at him and told him to stay calm and I will call for help,” he said.
He then saw another man, who was “fighting for his life”.
It’s understood staff at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital were warned of a “major incident”, and paramedic staff on days off have been called in.
Another Witness Craig Milroy, who saw the aftermath of the incident from an office building nearby, said he had seen four people taken away in ambulances.
