Detectives at Stewart Street are appealing for information after a man was attacked in Garnethill, Glasgow.

Around 10pm on Tuesday 10 July 2018, a 28-year-old man was at the entrance of Garnethill Park in Hill Street when he was approached by three men who attacked him and struck him about the head.

A woman, who was in the area at the time, screamed and the attackers fled.  It’s believed they got into a vehicle and drove off.  There is currently no description of the attackers or the vehicle.

The victim, who suffered a head injury, did not attend at hospital at the time and made his way home.  Police were subsequently called and enquiries were carried out.  The victim later attended the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where he received treatment for his injury.

Officers are checking CCTV footage from in and around the area for any clues as to why this man was attacked.  Police continue to carry out door-to-door enquiries.

Detective Sergeant Donna McDougall said:

“We are interested in speaking to anyone who may have been in the area around the time of the incident.  In particular, we would like to hear from the woman who was in the area around the time of the attack.  We believe her scream led to the attackers running off and she may be able to provide us with vital information which could assist our enquiries.”
