Flashpoints erupted after those attending a ‘protect the Cenotaph’ event held by the National Defence League clashed with the No Evictions Glasgow group.
The Justice Secretary also revealed a numbers of arrests have been made over following the ugly scenes.

Police also had to move in and separate the two groups of protesters in the city centre as tensions threatened to boil over.
Video from the scene shows a long line of officers coming between members of the demonstrators.
One clip shows cops chasing a demonstrator, with chanting and shouting heard in other videos.
As the tensions escalated the No Evictions Glasgow activists decided to leave the square in order to protect those attending.
