A police constable has been dismissed without notice after being sentenced at court for sexual assault.
PC Michael Bouwers, attached to Sutton borough, attended a special case hearing on Thursday, 10 May, and answered to allegations that his conduct amounted to a breach of standards of professional behaviour in respect of “discreditable conduct”, amounting to gross misconduct.

On 12 January 2018 at Kingston Crown Court, PC Bouwers was found guilty of six counts of sexual assault, contrary to Section 3 of the Sexual Offences Act 2003. He was subsequently sentenced to a 12-month Community Order, and will be placed on the sex offenders register for five years.

The special case hearing panel, after hearing evidence, dismissed PC Bouwers without notice.
