|HOUSEBREAKING – POLLOKSHIELDS, GLASGOW|
Detectives are appealing for information following a housebreaking which occurred in the Pollokshields area of Glasgow on Thursday 25 October 2018.
Around 8.20pm a man and women were walking to their home in Kirkcaldy Road, at the junction with Carberry Road. Upon entering their property they disturbed three men who had broken in.
The men had smashed the back window to gain entry and made off from the scene in a white Ford Fiesta, which a male driver had been waiting in outside.
The car made a U-turn in the middle of the road, blocking at least two cars driving on the road, and headed in the direction of Springkell Avenue.
The house had been completely ransacked and a three figure sum of money was stolen.
The suspects are described as wearing dark clothing. One is reported to have spoken with a Scottish accent and another spoke with an English accent.
Detective Constable Marc Stirling from the Community Investigation Unit based at Govan said:
“This is a busy residential area and there would have been pedestrians and motorists in the vicinity at the time of the incident.
“I am appealing for anyone who may have noticed a white Ford Fiesta parked outside a property in Kirkcaldy Road at the junction with Carberry Road, or anything at all suspicious, to get in touch. I would also ask any motorists with dashcams who were in the area to check their footage in case they have captured anything which could be of significance to the investigation.
“In particular I would like to speak to the drivers of the two vehicles that were stopped on Kirkcaldy Road by the getaway car doing a U-turn.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact the Community Investigation Unit based at Govan via 101, quoting incident number 3804 of Thursday 25 October 2018. Alternatively you can call CRIMESTOPPERS on 0800 555 111 where details can be given in confidence.
