Appeal after 48-year-old man seriously assaulted – Springburn, Glasgow
Detectives are appealing for information after a 48-year-old man was seriously injured after being assaulted in the Springburn area of Glasgow on Monday, 24 September 2018.
Around 1.20 am the man was walking in Balgrayhill Road near to Springburn Park when he was approached by another man who punched and kicked him. The injured man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary and treated for facial, body and back injuries.
It is believed that there may have been another disturbance shortly before this assault occurred.
The man suspected of the attack is described as being white, aged in his late teens to early twenties, around 6 feet in height and of slim build. Officers are carrying out door-to-door enquiries in the area and reviewing CCTV in an effort to identify the man responsible.
Detective Constable Chris Lafferty at Maryhill CID is appealing for information. He said: “This appears to be an unprovoked attack which has left the man seriously injured and I would urge anyone who was in the vicinity of Springburn Park in Balgrayhill Road around the time of the incident to get in touch with me.
“I am also aware that there may have been a disturbance in the same area shortly before the 48-year-old man was attacked. So, I’m appealing for anyone who has information about either incident to come forward.”
