Legendary rock band Garbage and Scotland’s very one Shirley Manson has been inducted into the Barrowland Hall of Fame tonight in Glasgow.
The Scottish and American alternative rock greats formed in Madison, Wisconsin in 1993 were in Glasgow playing at the historic venue.
Garbage consists of Scotland’s Shirley Manson, American musicians Duke Erikson, Steve Marker, and Butch Vig. All four members are involved in songwriting and production. and went on to sell over 17 million albums worldwide.
Garbage captured backstage at the Iconic venue tonight by Billy Coyle stagehand of the venue, who handed over the awards and our very own Brian Anderson was there to capture the exclusive story in pictures for Glasgow Eyes Magazine.
Shirley was really emotional as she picked up the award with her fellow bandmates all sharing in the accolade with her.
Although at first she was given the wrong award, as it was in the name of controversial American singer Marilyn Manson a mistake by the makers of the hall of fame award, to which she burst out laughing and found the funny side of it.
The Barrowland Hall of Fame goes from strength to strength as some of greatest names in history have already been inducted, names like Iggy Pop, Bowie, Ramones, Paul Weller, and The Bay City Rollers to name just a few.
Well done to Shirley and Garbage, truly well deserved for great musical talent and we wish them all the best for the future.
