Dom Thomas Soccer School got underway last week
We have recently ran a October Week Soccer Camp at Newton Farm School with over 70 kids attending throughout the week. We combined our soccer school with the John Obyrne foundation to give kids of Glasgow’s sick kids hospital a chance to training & feel part of a team also given them a chance to get away from the hospital life & give them the chance to take part in training that they wouldn’t normally get the chance to do.
We had Harris Tinney (10) & Ayden Mcquaid (11) down to join us at the Soccer Camp on Friday afternoon doing some 1 to 1 drills with myself & then joining up with the rest of our kids to participate in a champion league tournament which the both boys were actually on the winning team.
“It was great to have two kids down from The John O’Byrne foundation to train and play with us, it was great to see them playing with a smile on their face & feeling part of the team & accepted. It’s great to see them getting a rare chance out of hospital & playing football”
John Obyrne “dom is a good friend of mine and when he told me about his soccer school and how he wanted to involve my foundation to get kids playIng football that spend alot of time in hospital I thought it was a brilliant idea, these kids spend endless time in hospital so for them to get the chance to play football at a level they don’t normally get the chance to play it just seemed like an amazing idea”
Well done to all
