FOOD / BUSINESS / THINGS TO DO
By Brian Anderson words and pics
On my visit to Cafe Napoli in Glasgow’s city center, a vibrant establishment with the essence of Italy on Stockwell Street.
As I entered I was happily meeting up to see the head Chef and my friend Carman Gizzi. For those who don’t know her, she is the sister of Jules and Dante Gizzi, who make up the fabulous Glasgow Band Gun.
Right there and then my trepidation faded as we embraced and I knew this would be the rocking and rolling food in a rock and roll bar. Her food is exquisite, with a wide array of dishes and reasonably priced. This is conducive to the relaxed atmosphere enveloped, good people, and the unsurpassed ambiance at Cafe Napoli, delicious pasta dishes from Carmen. Why not just pop in for coffee and cannoli Cafe Napoli has it all.
She informed me that all the dishes are from the old country passed down through the generations and my tastebuds confirmed her words
This woman has cooked for Gun, KT Tunstall, Stereophonics, Justin Timberlake, Florence and the Machine and Bjork. So if you want the star treatment get on down and meet Carmen you won’t be disappointed.
Cafe Napoli is now open for business in evenings as well as catering for private functions and events see Carmen.
